Grand Re-opening Sat June 17

San Jose Bike Clinic is delighted to have found a new home at Local Color, an Exhibition District community venture that aims to maintain activation in the many vacant spaces within Downtown San Jose, providing a haven for creatives, makers, artists and thinkers. Our new shop space is located inside Local Color, a little over halfway down and on the left side.

Bike Clinic is celebrating our Grand Re-opening this Saturday June 17th at 7 pm, there at our new shop space at 27 South First St, San Jose, California 95113. This starts alongside Local Color’s own Grand Opening also starting at 7 pm.

Come on by for food, drinks, camaraderie, and of course bikes!

Make a donation of any size and you’ll get a free SJBC branded water bottle with a free shop day coupon inside! Get yours while supplies last.

Moving On

The San Jose Bike Clinic has closed our doors at 19 North Second Street in San Jose. We are no longer maintaining our open hour schedule, but are still available to meet folks on an appointment basis while we prepare to move out.

It’s been a pleasure serving the community, and we thank you all for the years of good times we’ve had here wrenching on bikes.

This isn’t the end of the Bike Clinic! Watch this feed for news about our next chapter to come.

We’d also like to thank all our volunteers for spending their time helping run the shop, and all of the cyclists who came by to buy bikes and parts and make use of the shop space. We’re excited for our next chapter!

Now that we are back to mobile status, San Pedro Square Market has graciously invited us back to continue doing our monthly Skill Shares on the Third Thursday of the month. We are starting again this month of February. Here are the event details:

We are actively seeking volunteers to staff our new shop schedule. If you have time, energy, and a desire to help keep the dream alive, please consider volunteering. Specifically we have online sign-up sheets for:

It took a lot of hard work and a bit of luck for us to finally make it to the point where we can open up shop. I am very proud to be a part of a grass roots organization that has made it this far, and look forward to what we’ll do with this new space and where we’ll go from here.

I want to give a special shout out and thank you to our volunteers that put in the sweat to make the dream come alive, as well as our fiscal sponsor SVBC, and to our community for coming out to pay the Bike Clinic a visit. We hope we’ll see you soon!

Join us at our Event Planning Meeting on Monday, March 17th!

If you want to get involved with volunteering with the San Jose Bike Clinic, our monthly Event Planning Meeting is the place to be! Come on down to learn what we’ll be up to next, help figure out logistics, volunteer for future events, or even suggest new ideas for SJBC events. SJBC is entirely volunteer-run, and these meetings are where we start running! Come join us to be a part of making the magic happen on the ground floor.

This month our meeting will be on Monday, March 17th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Martin Luther King Jr. Library. The exact location is TBD, but just ask at the library help desk and they’ll direct you to the right place.

Hope to see you there!
